Volunteering at the Conference

Volunteering is a great way to get involved in this Conference. Apart from the ‘feel good’ factor and the benefit it will be to the smooth running of this event you will also get a discount on your registration fee. We will give preference to Foster Carers, Workers/Volunteers in non-government agencies and students studying welfare based courses. If you would like to find out more take a look at some of the jobs below and if you are interested send us an “email”:mailto:neil@fostercareconference.com telling us a little bit about yourself and why you would like to volunteer.

Registration

The Conference Registration Desk is the first port of call for everyone and it’s important that it is efficient and effective. It’s generally only busy at start of day (and it will be busy!) and break times but when the rush starts it needs people who are cool, calm and collected. If that’s you – and you are looking to volunteer then get in touch “volunteering”:mailto:neil@fostercareconference.com

Technical Support

Can you find your way around a data projector and laptop? Do you know how to get a PowerPoint presentation up and running? We are looking for someone to assist with minor technical problems as they crop up (or if possible before they crop up!). We have expert help on hand but if you have the troubleshooting skills we need then get in touch at “Volunteering”:mailto:neil@fostercareconference.com

Conference Guides

Where do you find the disabled toilets, the venue is locked, where can I get some cash, I want to set up my display stand, I have lost my… these are some of the questions and problems faced every few minutes in a conference office. It’s a great place for people who are good problem solvers and who have or want to gain customer service skills. It can be fast, demanding and very rewarding. Drop us a line on “volunteering”:mailto:neil@fostercareconference.com if this is something you’d like to be doing.

Conference Hosts

The conference will have more than 30 people who will be making presentations and it is important that they are looked after, that they know where they need to be when it’s time for their presentation and that the room is set up as it should be. They will need introducing and thanking for their time and contribution. Do you fit the bill? Email me at “volunteering”:mailto:neil@fostercareconference.com

Surveys

There will be upwards of 200 people at the conference but are they getting what they came for and are they enjoying it? Armed with a clip board and a big smile your mission will be to get people to tell you what they think. Interested? Why not get in touch “volunteering”:mailto:neil@fostercareconference.com
